Greys Avenue, Auckland, New Zealand
Reason for this visit
Despite being in a small scale, New Zealands forex market is relatively efficient, with gradually declining spread trading. The comparatively low intraday trading volume in the market is largely made during the London and New York session. Forex brokers in New Zealand are required to be licensed and regulated by the central bank, which demands that brokers should provide adequate risk disclosure and investor education. In recent years, smaller local brokers have faced competitive pressure from foreign brokers, with the rapid development of trading automation and mobile trading. In order to help investors or practitioners gain a more comprehensive understanding of the country's forex brokers, WikiFX survey team decides to go to New Zealand for on-site visits to local companies.
On-site visit
In this issue, the survey team went to New Zealand to visit forex broker CA Markets as planned according to its regulatory address that Suite 502, 48 Greys Avenue, Auckland Central, Auckland, 1010, New Zealand.
A seasoned and professional inspection team, committed to safeguarding investor interests, conducted a meticulously planned on-site verification of the forex broker CA Markets at 48 Greys Avenue in Auckland Central.
The subject property is a seven-story modern commercial building located in the heart of Auckland's Central Business District (CBD). Situated in a typically bustling area with strong commercial activity and convenient transportation, the building features clean exterior finishes with glass curtain walls that highlight its business-oriented design. The entrance is staffed with security personnel, and the overall environment demonstrates orderly management.
Upon entering the building, the inspection team observed an electronic directory screen and printed floor directory in the lobby. The directory clearly lists “Corporate Alliance Group” as occupying Suite 502 on the 5th Floor, with no mention of CA Markets. Security personnel confirmed that the building's tenant records match the directory information, showing no registration for CA Markets.
Following the directory instructions, investigators proceeded to the fifth floor via elevator. The corridor was clean and well-lit, with clear office numbering. Upon reaching Suite 502, they noted the door displayed only “Suite 502” without any company name or logo. Through the glass door, standard office layouts were visible but no CA Markets branding materials or employee identification were observed. Attempts to knock went unanswered, and the card-access system prevented further entry.
All signage (including floor directories and door plates) exclusively referenced “Corporate Alliance Group” with no connection to the target company. Building management confirmed Suite 502 is leased as private office space, not a co-working area, effectively eliminating the possibility of CA Markets operating there temporarily. To ensure thoroughness, investigators conducted additional checks of other floors and adjacent buildings, finding no trace of CA Markets operations.
Through an on-site investigation, it is confirmed that the broker does not have a physical presence at the place.
Conclusion
The survey team went to New Zealand to visit forex broker CA Markets as scheduled, but did not find the company at its regulatory address. This suggests the broker maintains no physical business premises and uses the address solely for registration purposes. Accordingly, investors are advised to make a sensible decision following much deliberation.
