Reason for this visit

The international forex market in Hong Kong has been developing since the 1970s. Due to the removal of forex control in Hong Kong since 1973, there has been a large inflow of international capital, and an increasing number of financial institutions operating forex business have mushroomed. The forex market has become more and more active, developing into an international forex market. Hong Kong forex market is an invisible market without a fixed trading venue. Traders conduct forex transactions through various modern communication facilities and computer networks. Hong Kongs geographical location and time zone conditions are similar to those of Singapore, making it very convenient to trade with other international forex markets. Participants in Hong Kong forex market are mainly commercial banks and financial companies. There are three types of forex brokers in this market: local brokers, whose business is limited to Hong Kong; international brokers who have expanded their business to the Hong Kong forex market since the 1970s; international brokers that grow locally and has expanded their business to forex markets abroad. In an attempt to help investors or practitioners gain a more comprehensive understanding of current status of forex brokers in Hong Kong, WikiFX survey team determines to pay on-site visits to local companies.

On-site visit

In this issue, the survey team went to Hong Kong, China to visit broker ASTRUM as planned according to its regulatory address that Suite 2704, 27/F, Tower 1, Admiralty Centre, 18 Harcourt Road, Admiralty, Hong Kong.

A seasoned and professional inspection team, committed to safeguarding investor interests, conducted a meticulously planned on-site verification of the prominent forex broker ASTRUM at Admiralty Centre in Admiralty, Hong Kong.

The target address is situated in the heart of Hong Kongs Admiralty financial and business district, characterized by dense pedestrian flow and a vibrant commercial atmosphere. The area concentrates financial institutions, dining establishments, retail outlets, and residential buildings, with well-developed infrastructure and convenient transportation. Admiralty Centre, as a landmark commercial complex, features modern architecture with well-maintained surroundings, epitomizing a thriving business hub.

Upon arrival, the inspection team first conducted external observations of Tower 1, Admiralty Centre. The building facade showed excellent maintenance with prominent identification markers at the entrance.

The team then proceeded to the buildings lobby, which presented a clean, bright environment with comprehensive security measures. The directory board clearly indicated that Room 2704 on the 27th floor housed two entities: “Astrum Capital Management Limited” and “Astrum Financial Holdings Limited.”

For thorough verification, the team ascended to the 27th floor via elevator. Clear corridor signage directed to Room 2704, located at the end of the hallway. The glass entrance doors displayed the company name “Astrum Financial Holdings Limited” along with its logo in visible corporate branding. While internal office scenes could not be photographed externally, preliminary observations through the glass doors revealed an orderly and well-organized workspace layout.

Access to the office interior was denied during the visit, preventing closer inspection. Field assessment confirmed the company does not utilize co-working spaces, maintaining dedicated reception area with independent branding. Despite access restrictions, external documentation successfully captured the reception logo and partial office views, providing conclusive evidence of active business operations.

Through the on-site investigation, it is confirmed that ASTRUM maintains a physical presence at the above address.

Conclusion

The survey team went to Hong Kong, China to visit broker ASTRUM as scheduled and found the company at its regulatory address. It denotes that the broker has a physical office at the place. Meanwhile, investors are advised to make a well-considered decision following much deliberation.
